Ripple Frozen - Video and Ceramic Installation

The fond memories that I have at Laurel Lake stay with me. This collection of seven vases are inspired by the concept of a splash that will never reach a ripple and as if frozen in air.  The accompanying video reveals the eighth splash vessel dissolving in the lake, washed by the ripples and tide.  Deteriorating in rhythm with the crickets, the vase fades into the night and dissolves as a reminder of the ephemerality of the moment.
