Memory Jam

Memory Jam, reflects on tradition’s lasting impression on identity.  The nostalgia of collecting blackberries that surrounded my childhood house and making blackberry jam with my family connects me to them.  This memory has outlasted the ephemeral berries.  By creating 365 blackberries in clay, one each day.  I have preserved the life of the fruit, similarly to how the canning process does, and created a token of the summer to be a reminder of the sweet memories of that time.
